Transmission

Gun Lund & E=mc2 Dance

Scenen

22/1–28/3 2014

Taking her point of departure within the sensory system, Gun Lund explores dance and movement in combination with wireless communication and vibrators. What happens when we let the sensation of touch on the skin overtake the often more direct senses of sight and sound?

From a dense darkness the dancers appear. Accompanied by an electronic score they explore movement material where they constantly change perspectives and initiatives. Transmission is a performance about transmitting and receiving thoughts and ideas, intentions and electromagnetic waves. Waves that through a vibrotactile and specifically developed technology sends vibrations and nerve impulses to the dancers. Without hesitation they interpret and transform these vibrations into movements, creating a new kind of dialogue via invisible waves and touch at a distance.
