ART WARS is coming to Sweden. A wide array of Swedish artists has transformed the iconic Stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars into 20 extraordinary works of art.
The first exhibition of ART WARS was presented in 2013 at renowned Saatchi Gallery in London with artists such as Damien Hirst, Jake & Dinos Chapman and Joana Vasconcelos. The project was initiated by british curator and artist Ben Moore who has teamed up with Olof Persson, artistic director at 3:e Våningen, to present ART WARS SWEDEN an exhibition of 20 swedish artists.
The show opens for a range of interpretation - of identity, loss, the relationship between art and popular culture - but also have a strong social aspect. The proceeds go to the Missing People Sweden and the Missing Tom Fund which was set up by Ben Moore to support the ongoing search for his missing brother Tom. All the works will be for sale in an ongoing auction throughout the exhibition period ending at March 29th.
